No Spin Zone: Dell Ushers In Better Mobile Storage Reliability With Solid State Drives on Select Notebooks

Dell announced that it is offering a 1.8-inch 32GB1 solid state drive (SSD) from SanDisk on Latitude D420 ultra-mobile and D620 ATG semi-rugged notebooks. The company is one the first to offer a flash-based drive as an alternative to hard disk drives (HDD) on corporate notebooks. Dell sees potential for flash-based drives and is committing to offer them across next generation Latitude notebooks because they enable better reliability, increased performance and noise reduction.

Acer clinches three Red Dot 2007 awards for product design

24-inch IMac is nearly perfect

It’s taken 25 years or thereabouts from the arrival of my first computer, a Sanyo MBC-1000, but I believe my search for the “perfect” desktop one is over. The device sports a massive 24-inch liquid crystal display, big enough to make watching a video of the NBC-TV series “Law & Order” enjoyable.

Toshiba Expands Recycling Program to Include Free Computer Take-back

Demonstrating its continuing commitment to preserving the environment for future generations, Toshiba??â??â??s Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced that it has enhanced its recycling initiatives with a free computer take-back program. The company also announced today it has joined the Green Electronics Council??â??â??s Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) by registering select notebook models with EPEAT, extending Toshiba??â??â??s commitment to the environment.

Lenovo Announces Battery Recall
